My First project for this months Karen Burniston Designer Challenge (Stencils)

Hi, it's almost time for the May Karen Burniston Designer Challenge :)  our theme this month is stencils!  I am so in Love with all of Karen's stencils but the new 6 coming out are so fun!!  The one I used on my project today is the Gears Stage It Stencil so Fun.....

I went a little out of my comfort zone on this one...even though I still used some pretty colors I managed to grunge it up a bit. I started on a plain Manila tag scribbled on some distress crayons, laid my stencil on top and carefully with a baby wipe I wiped a little color away. I used the Gears Stencil again and laid it to one side and using gold embossing paste I just added a little bit of the pattern again.
Poppy is my all time favorite charterer and I thought he would look good supporting some of the New Steampunk Charms and grunged up a bit.
I used a Washer Word over his eye that I have had for years. (Not sure you can still find them?)
I used a label from the Lorna Label at the bottom stamped with one of the sentiments from the New Steampunk Birthday clear stamp set. I added a heart from the Heart Pivot die set that I covered with some saffron Silk Microfine Glitter and backed it with the Wing Charms.

Below is a Closer Look at Poppy :)

Wednesday over at Karen Burniston's Blog you will get to see ALL the Amazing designs from the whole design team.  It is always so full of Inspiration... I have three projects for this challenge and will be back tomorrow with project #2.

The New Elizabeth Craft Designs Spring 2016 release will be shipping to stores around the 25th of this month!  Such an amazing release.... You can see it ALL HERE!

Thank you for stopping and have a Wonderful Day!
XO

You could take a trip to the local hardware store and get some metal pieces and grunge them up if you can't find something at a local craft store.

I love ol' grungy owl. He is my favorite owl. Happy Grunging.
